Fiberglass filter bag is made by fast pulling from the melted glass liquid. It is a kind of inorganic non-woven filtration material fiberglass is usually divided into two types:
1, aluminum boron silicate glass fiber, called non-alkali fiberglass (R2O-alkali metal oxide content in less than 0.5%).
2, sodium-calcium silicate fiber called middle-alkali fiberglass (content of R2O-alkali metal oxide between 0.5~12%).
Compared with organic synthetic fibers, it has high tensile strength, and the elongation is relatively small. Fiberglass has very good temperature resistance. Its shrinkage at 280ºC is zero. Glass fiber can resist most of the chemicals except hydrofluoric acid, strong acid, and strong alkali at room temperature and the alkali at high temperature. But its resistance capability of hydrolysis is relative bad. Storing in the condition of 100% relative humidity for 128 days, the strength will reduce 16% and 21% for non-alkali and middle-alkali fiberglass.
Due to the special component of fiberglass, it does not have very good water and corrosion resistance. Its resistance to curving is also not good. Therefore the filtration materials contains fiberglass must apply the post-processing. That is to improve the combination between the felt layer and the fabric layer, protect the felt and fabric from corrosion .It will also improve the ability of dust stripping from the felt.
